Best Camping Gear for New Adventurers
There is no other activity that lets you get closer to nature than camping. As romantic as it sounds, camping still features a lot of challenges that you have to prepare for. While you cannot anticipate every factor, it is important to get your bases covered. It starts with a high quality tent and lightwear but functional clothes.
One large, extremely durable tent
First on the list is a high quality tent that can last you a lifetime. This is the most quintessential gear for any camping trip and one of the best camping gears to invest in. A good tent and a badly made tent makes the difference between a great camping trip and a terrible one. Sure, it can be quite the investment but if you choose the right one, it can last you a very long time. Even a lifetime.
You can’t afford to buy a cheap tent that you will have to replace every other trip. Not only will this cost you a lot more money, it is also not environmentally sustainable. Plus, the last thing you want is to be in the middle of a camping trip and your poles keep breaking and being winded down.
The tip is to find a really good brand. We recommend the REI Co-op Kingdom 6. The price tag is pretty steep at $499, but it is one that is trusted by many experienced campers and adventurers. What we love about this is its height and the huge interior that offers lots of space for storage and movement inside.
Now, this does not mean that you can’t enjoy camping if you can’t afford higher end tents. A much cheaper alternative and one that we still trust to be sturdy is the Kelty Wireless 4P. Its materials and build are naturally much cheaper than Kingdom 6. It is still a good one to buy if you are just dipping your toes into camping.
A high quality tree tent
Depending on where you are going and camping, a tree tent can be one of the best camping gears to purchase. It can be a better option than your traditional tent, too. The sheer experience of being able to sleep while you are suspended in the air is quite the adventure on its own. You’d be surprised to discover just how much more comfortable it is than on-the-ground tents.
For the tree tent category, we only really recommend Tentsile. Specifically, the Stingray 3-person tree tent. Our primary consideration in recommending this here is how easy it is to assemble. This model can, in fact, be assembled even by one person. This ease of assembly is important not only for new adventurers, but for all adventurers. No one wants to spend more than an hour figuring out how to set up a tent.

Comfortable clothes
An underrated essential part of camping is what you are wearing. What you are wearing can be one of the best camping gears you own.
Since camping is usually paired with hiking, it is important that you are comfortable with what you are wearing. When choosing what to wear on a camping trip, the two most important things are weight and functionality. This especially applies for the pants or shorts you choose to wear. You want to wear something light, comfortable, and with functionality features such as sturdy zipped pockets.
Our choice of pants and shorts has always been Du/er. Here at Take More Adventures, we support brands that go the extra mile in making their products environmentally sustainable. This allows us to fully enjoy our adventures, knowing that what we’re wearing did not contribute to environmental pollution. Remember to always make the conscious decision to choose sustainability over anything.
Since summer is upcoming, we’re recommending these high quality, lightweight shorts for your next adventure. Check out Du/er’s Live Lite Adventure Shorts for men and Live Lite Adventure Shorts for women.
