Here are some of the best spots in New Orleans to hang out in.

By day, there are so many great dining and drinking spots here to hang out in. As well as small boutiques to shop in. It is a whole other scenery by night though. By night, the pedestrian just kind of explodes with light and crowd and it may not be for everybody.

Frenchmen Street

One of the most beloved streets in the French Quarter is Frenchmen Street. It is not as crowded or as crazy as the other streets. It does not mean that nothing interesting is going on around here though.

Frenchmen street is lined with many great restaurants. It is also the street to go if you are looking for some great music and authentic jazz. It is, as they say, where the true artists go and hang out.

Bourbon Street

Now, as crazy and crowded as this place can be, there is a reason why Bourbon Street is so popular. The street dates back to 1718. This street in New Orleans is named, not quite after the liquor, but after the French royal family ruling at the time.

The street embodies the soul of New Orleans with its party, crowd, music, decorations, and alcohol. The street is lined with so many iconic bars and performers. Admittedly, the party can go a little bit too crazy that not everybody may feel safe. However, if the party is what you are looking for, definitely head on over to Bourbon Street.

Garden District

The Garden District is the perfect spot to step away from the crazy flocks of tourists in the French Quarter. Tourists also love to unwind and just breathe some fresh air in this district. The district is mostly composed of the state’s most prosperous families with their lovely mansions and beautifully manicured gardens.

Many celebrities have homes in this area. It is a lovely spot to just sit in and enjoy a good cup of coffee in one of the district’s cafes.

Oak Alley Plantation

Speaking of manicured gardens, if a manicured estate and mansion is what you are looking for, head on over to the Oak Alley Plantation. This is some of New Orleans’ most grandeur parts. It also represents the bygone area of the South in the early 19th century. Regardless if you are interested in the history of the site, a tour of the plantation certainly makes for a stunning experience.
