Rhode Island

Despite being the smallest state and one of the least populous in the United States, Rhode Island got some interesting linguistic uniqueness. Distinct and known for the famous Rhode Island accent. This gives them a unique identity amongst any other states. It also has some of the best beaches for a quick summer getaway. There truly is no other place like Rhode Island.

Geography

Located in the Northeastern United States, Rhode Island has a total land area of 3, 144 km2. It has some of the finest views in the region–– combining nature and the city lights with the border it shares with New York. The state also has a very generous tidal shoreline of 618km. This combines both Narragansett Bay and on the Atlantic Ocean.

With only 812 feet as the highest point in Jerimoth Hill, Rhode Island is generally considered a flat land.

Flat as it is, it does not mean that Rhode Island is geographically boring. Narragansett Bay would prove it otherwise with its 30 small and medium-sized islands for your leisure and enjoyment.

The Island of Religious Freedom is what the state has been known for since Roger William’s arrival in the state. He came to Rhode Island due to being exiled from the Massachusetts Bay Colony due to some radical religious views. It is an interesting fact that not many people know about this fascinating place!

Rhode Island is very rich in history when it comes to wars and revolutions. Because it was known for being independent and very critical, it served a great role in the American Revolution. It pledged its allegiance to the British Crown in 1776 – the first of the thirteen colonies.

If your family owns a textile company, you probably need to thank the early businessmen who have landed there. Rhode Island is the place to which the second textile in America was manufactured. This, in turn, provided job opportunities and has moved hundreds to thousands of workers into the island. And for that, Rhode Island was part of the historic industrial revolution that started in 1787.

Weather

Make sure to avoid visiting the island during March. Flooding due to a heavy downpour of rains made it hard to travel in the place. Summer on the island lasts for three months starting from June to September. Prepare your sunscreen and wear proper clothes as the temperature during summer can get up to 83°F. You surely do not want to get sunburnt.
