Tips and Tricks in Using Your Tentsile Tree Tent
Tentsile offers innovative camping solutions for your comfort and enjoyment. From giant hammocks to tree tents, you can have a unique shelter and gear on your next trip. Tentsile tree tents are especially a hit today for many outdoor enthusiasts like you. To help you learn more about your new tent or hammock, here are some tips and tricks.
Setting Up Your Tentsile Tent or Hammock: Choosing Three Trees
The key is to find trees that are less than 90 degrees away from each other. Each tree should be at least 15 inches in diameter. The trees should also be healthy. So watch out for dead woods because these cannot support the Tentsile tent well. Also, check the ground conditions where the tree is standing. It must be firm and solid and not sandy or flaky.
Misaligned or Close Trees
In case of misaligned trees where one side may be looser, find a fourth tree closest to this side. Use a ratchet and spare strap to pull the loose strap. Pull it until you properly align the tree tent.
In the case of close trees, you should make sure that you have the minimum space required for your tent. This is the length of the tent plus a minimum of 20 inches long for each strap and loop.
How to Use the Anti-Roll Straps
To avoid rolling onto your friend, you can use Tentsile’s anti-roll straps. First, you have to loosen the tension on one ratchet. You will then find an adjustable buckle located on the underneath floor of the tent. Loosen it a bit so you can adjust the strap and make it tighter. You can tighten the underfloor strap by 2 inches. Once you are done, you can retighten and lock the ratchet of the side earlier loosened. After that, you can observe that there will be no rolls and the tent becomes more stable.
Tensile Safety Tips
1. When you climb into your tree tent or hammock, make sure that you do not have sharp tools or objects inside your pockets or strapped on your belt. This will damage the tent and may as well injure you when it bounces.
2. Before it rains, make sure that you set up your WaterGates. These are the three rubber pieces inside the spare bag. This will avoid how your straps can be saturated with rain which extends onto the belt of the tent. The WaterGates will prevent the water’s ingress especially during extended periods of rain.
3. Pick your trees wisely. The trees impact how the total weight can be supported by the tent. Also, the tension loads are on top of the trees and reach up to 15kN. Do not attempt to strap your Tentsile tree tent or hammock on chimneys, columns, or brick walls for your safety.
4. Make sure that you check the condition and parts of your tent before packing so you are sure that these are in good condition and complete. Tentsile offers repair and replacement kits in case of loss or damage to the parts. Repair or replace them as needed to avoid mishaps on your trip.
