Top Five Things to do in Massachusetts

Boston Massachusetts

Massachusetts may be small but what it lacks in size, it makes up with diversity and adventure. With sixty percent of the state covered by forests, its west is mountainous, and its east bordered by the ocean, you already know you are up for some pretty great landscapes and outdoor adventure.

Spend a day at Cape Cod Beach

A long and curved peninsula into the Pacific, Cape Cod Bay features 560 miles of white sand shoreline. It can get pretty crowded in the summer but don’t worry, 506 miles of shore ensures plenty of space for everyone.

However, if you are looking for a more laid back, peaceful beach — try going to Cape Cod’s farther northern parts. The scenery from the quieter northern shores of Massachusetts is always worth the extra miles.

Walk through Minute Man National Historical Park and Lexington Green

One of our favorite parks in Massachusetts. Here, you can follow the path that British soldiers took as they marched from Boston for what would become the American Revolution. Minute Man National Historical Park is filled with natural beauty and historical significance.

Here you may take a guided tour or you can just take a stroll of your own. Some of the spots you should not miss are Buckman Tavern, Minute Man Statue, and the North Bridge.

Stay at Martha’s Vineyard

Martha’s Vineyard is an island off the southern coast of Massachusetts. It has an incredibly rich history of being the first known home for deaf communities. Over the years though, tourism grew and Martha’s Vineyard turned into a summer and vacation destination. Quite an expensive one at that, too. Today, the island offers a range of tourist accommodations. They have large hotels and modern boutique hotels. There remains traditional inns, too, as well as homestays.

The island has already attracted plenty of celebrities. Its reputation of being the summering island of some of the affluent and influential families certainly makes the island sound and feel even more exclusive.

Travel back in time at Old Sturbridge Village

Interactive museums are some of our favorite tourist destinations. There is just something fascinating about them. They are especially fun when you are travelling with kids. Here at Old Sturbridge Village, they recreate what New England was like in the early 1800s. It has everything from historically accurate structures, craft shops, mills, and farm buildings. There are consumed interpreters, even daily craftsmen that offer hands-on activities for children.

Definitely give Old Sturbridge Village a visit if you ever find yourself in Massachusetts.

Whale Watching at Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary

Stellwagen Bank is one of the top ten best spots for whale watching all over the world. As one of the world’s most biologically productive ocean environments, there are plenty of marine wildlife to see here. From several different species of whale, dolphins, seals, harbor porpoise — and more!

Best to book a proper tour and be guided by a trained naturalist to make the most out of your trip here.
