California is a place filled with so much adventure, it can stay exciting for a lifetime. Unfortunately, not all of us can live in the Golden State — most of us can only afford a couple of days or weeks to spend in this place.

Trek through Redwood National Park
Home to some of the oldest and tallest trees in the United States, great wildlife, and beautiful rivers, the Redwood National Park is a nature wonderland. Even if you just have one day to spare, a relaxed nature walk through its woods would refresh you for days, even weeks, to come.
They have different routes for all sorts of schedules so even if you are running on a pretty tight schedule, you could totally squeeze in a day trip here.
Take a day off at Venice Beach
If you are not planning to go far off of Los Angeles, there are already plenty of things to do in the city. Of course, a California trip would not be complete without a trip to the beach. There are plenty of beach destinations in Los Angeles, but Venice Beach is probably the most stunning out of all of them.
Here you can ride a bike, roller skate, swim, go on a food trip, or just sunbathe. It is dotted with plenty of street performers too so if the view of the beach isn’t enough, there are plenty of amusements to roam around on.
Drive to the Big Sur Coastline
Long regarded as one of the most scenic driving routes all over the world, this 90-mile drive route is an exciting destination even among locals. The drive may be quite the commitment, but the view of the pacific ocean, the rocks, the vibrant hills, the sandy beaches, and the redwoods makes for a fantastic time on the road.

Stay the night in Yosemite National Park
Whether you are planning to camp or rent a lodging or a hotel, staying the night over Yosemite is a must. A day trip to this national park just wouldn’t suffice. You wouldn’t be doing yourself a favor if you do not spend enough time exploring one of the most iconic, beautiful parks in the world.
Here, you can hike, rock climb, camp, or just some good old fashioned sightseeing. Even if you aren’t particularly one to enjoy the outdoors, there are plenty of comfortable stays and spots in the area with great food and accommodation.
Cruise from Los Angeles to Hawaii
If you have not had quite enough of your adventure on the west coast, taking a cruise from Los Angeles to Hawaii may be exactly what you need.
